Virtual Friday 5/28/10

Good News Everybody! We're not grading you for logging onto Elluminate this Friday. Mrs. Calder and I will still be on there to answer questions until 11 if you need, but it's not required. We will both have our gmail chat going too if you want to get in touch with one of us specifically.

NEW IMPROVED Elluminate Link (sorry the 1st one didnt work):

Social Studies: Virtual Friday, May 27

Directions:

  • Choose THREE of the following questions to answer.  You should write a well-developed paragraph for each response. 3 points per paragraph and one bonus point for doing all 3.

  • PROOFREAD your answers too as you will be graded on grammar and spelling.

  • IF YOUR LAST NAME STARTS WITH A-L SEND YOUR ANSWERS TO KERSH. IF YOUR LAST NAME STARTS WITH M-Z SEND YOUR ANSWERS TO MRS. CALDER.

1. How effective has the virtual work been in helping you understand the content of your social studies course?  Use specific examples. Which 21st Century Skills help you to be a successful virtual learner? Which 21st Century Skills have you improved in because of virtual learning (Fridays)?

2. Do you think that this year's Virtual Friday assignments have helped you to become ready for next year's hybrid virtual curriculum (where you will have to do a significant portion of your work virtually)? If yes, how has it prepared you? If not, why (be specific)?

3. In your opinion, what would take virtual learning to the next level for you? How could on-line learning engage you fully and summon your best creative energies? What can you imagine doing in your virtual education future? Think about the online tools that you use everyday and how you could use these tools to better design your own education.

4. What do you think about the way we combined language arts and social studies this semester?  Do you feel like it helped you improve your writing skills?  Did it help you see the connections between language arts and your other classes?  What would you recommend for next year to help us improve the program?

P.S DON'T FORGET TO GET YOUR REFLECTIONS DONE FOR YOUR STUDENT LED CONFERENCE
